Early summer 1999,  I visited lovely Wilmington, North Carolina, and took in Lil' Ed and other assorted acts at the annual Cape Fear Blues Festival, put on by the Blues Society of The Lower Cape Fear.  The event was held on the grounds of the Battleship            , and was first-rate!

Lil' Ed, Michael Garrett, Eddie King, and Pookie Young, jam at the 1999 Cape Fear Blues Festival!

Lower Cape Fear Blues Society President, Lan Nichols, with a big smile on his face after overseeing a very successful event.  Thanks Lan! The giant guitars on hand at the event were really neat.  The guy was actually playing this monster.
The following depict what I mean so far as Lil' Ed;s "interactive concerts."  The guy goes out in the crowd and blows them away!
Lil' Ed and guitarist Michael Garret mix with the crowd. The crowd really enjoyed this!! Lil' Ed amongst the audience getting "down and dirty."
A concertgoer shakes a leg to Lil' Ed's playing. Eddie King and Lil' Ed drove the audience wild when they left the stage to jam among the crowd.

Lil' Ed and bass player James "Pookie" Young. Blues Imperial's guitarist Michael Garrett, and drummer Kelly Littleton.
